The presence of biologically-active peptides can be masked during analysis by the presence of protein fragments (peptides) derived from degradation processes that begin at the moment of sampling. Rapid heat stabilization prevents protein degradation thereby revealing endogenous peptides during subsequent analysis.
Eliminates masking of in vivo expressed peptides
Prevents degradation during processing and analysis
Enables extraction of peptides in non-denaturing buffers without use of additives or precipitation steps
Results from a recent publication demonstrate an increased recovery of neuropeptides from tissue samples when utilizing heat stabilization followed by an optimal extraction protocol.
