Peptidomics

Bioactive peptides fulfil important functions in the body and have the potential to be a rich source of disease biomarkers or drug molecules. The use of mass spectrometry-based methods to detect a large set of peptides in endocrine tissues is an efficient way to investigate the peptidome. Rapid degradation in tissues, when removed from their natural environment, produces a large number of protein fragments that risk masking the peptides normally expressed in vivo expressed. Using the Stabilizor T1 system to prevent sample degradation and preserve the in vivo peptide profile:
  • Eliminates masking of in vivo expressed peptides
  • Prevents degradation during sample processing
  • Enables extraction of peptides in non-denaturing buffers without use of additives or precipitation steps
